mr. west.

alright - - i have to make a retraction.

yesterday, i posted a song from kayne's new album as jet's track of the day. upon the first listen of this album, i was focusing mainly on the overall sound (beats, ect...) which is a good listen. i stand by this statement. however, as i made it through my second - thirdish listen i started paying attention to the lyrics. wow. now we all know that kayne thinks very highly of himself, and i've heard about some recent incidents regarding his horrible attitude, but after hearing some of the shizz he says on this album, i was appalled.

take, an exerpt from the lyrics of the track titled the glory.

what am i supposed to do now
man the game all messed up
how i suppose to stand out when everybody get dressed up
so yeah at the grammies i went ultra travolta
yeah that tuxedo mighta been a little gweedo
but with my ego, i can stand there with a speedo
and still be looked at like a f*ckin hero

it kinda makes me want to burn my ears off and never listen to anything he ever makes again. ever. and it's sad because i really do believe he's talented, but his attitude makes me want to vomit. so with these lyrics ringing in my ears, i remembered that there was an incident with him racing the stage at the european music awards recently when he didn't win an award. i finally saw the video. see below.

that kind of behavior is just ridiculous. and unnecessary. and we all heard recently about his rant backstage at the MTV VMAs. see below.

i don't know. i guess it all just sunk in at once that this guy is an unfortunately talented douchebag, and it just makes me angry. and it makes me dislike an album i originally liked, and probably would have purchased. kanye, a little humility goes a long way...
